Hello from TASA Youth

Dear TASA Youth thematic group,

Greetings! We hope you are doing well!

We’re getting in touch to share some news and plans for the year.

First up, Naomi Berman has been joined by Benjamin Hanckel and Julia Cook as thematic group conveners. Naomi is new to the role, but not new to TASA, and is keen to find ways to help you connect and get to know each other better. Ben and Julia (previous thematic group conveners) are partnering with Naomi to set up some great events and initiatives to usher us through this year.

Our first initiative is a monthly digital drop-in for members to meet and talk all things youth research. This is intended to be an informal meet-up open to all group members. The kick-off session is on Tuesday 8th March, 12:30-1:30pm (BYO lunch if you need). We’ll discuss ideas that you have for the future of the thematic group and drop-in sessions, including what you’d like to get out of these. Subsequent drop-in sessions might turn to topics such as research challenges or workshopping ideas. The aim is for these sessions to be relaxed, yet productive, sessions that are responsive to your needs. If you would like to come along, please register via Eventbrite, we would be delighted to see you there.

We are also reviving the TASA Youth Twitter handle, so please email through or DM us on Twitter (@YouthTASA) with all your publications, events, achievements, or anything else that you’d like us to tweet out. We are committed to showing off all the great work that is happening among the youth thematic group!

Finally, we are hoping to host a TASA Youth event in the latter half of this year, so watch this space for an exciting opportunity for us all to get together – in person (yay!).

All the best,

TASA Youth Thematic Group Convenors

Naomi, Ben and Julia.
