Dear TASA Youth thematic group,
We hope you are doing well!
We had our first digital drop-in for the year earlier this week. We enjoyed meeting some new members as well as seeing some familiar faces, and had a great conversation about ideas for future sessions and the thematic group more generally.
We decided to hold the drop-in sessions on the second Tuesday of each month, and to focus on a specific theme. The format of these sessions will be flexible and shaped by the theme. To this end, we would love to get your input about the types of themes/topics you would find valuable to discuss. If you have 2mins to spare, please help us help you (by answering 1-3 simple and completely anonymous questions) via the following link: https://forms.gle/EZAHdqYFyyUro2yVA
Our next session is on Tuesday 12 April from 12:30pm-1:30pm (AEST). The theme will be Ethics – something that all of us contend with while planning and conducting our research. We hope to have a lively discussion that covers the domains of formal, procedural and situational ethics that arise within research encounters.
If you’re interested in attending please RSVP here. Please also feel free to forward the event to any friends and colleagues who may be interested – they don’t need to be TASA members to attend.
Finally, we’ve also had some great suggestions about how we can bring TASA Youth members together during the conference later this year. We’ll continue these conversations and announce our plans closer to the event.
All the best,
TASA Youth Thematic Group Conveners
