Hi TASA Youth thematic group,
Please see below a call for abstracts for a TASA-aligned event next year. It would be brilliant to see many of you there!

Dear colleagues,
I write to invite you to join us at an upcoming symposium on Youth + Work being hosted by Monash in Melbourne, June 22, 2023. The one day event, subtitled 'disrupted plans, digital modalities, and undecided futures' will focus in particular on the impact of digital technologies and on precarious and uncertain employment futures for young people.
It would be great to have you join the symposium to present your research.
The event is supported by the Australian Sociological Association (TASA) to tie in with the International Sociological Association's World Congress of Sociology which is taking place in Melbourne June 25 - July 1, so our event will be the week prior on June 22. On the following day there will be a separate but aligned event, titled ‘Mobile Transitions’: A Symposium on Global Youth, Transnational Mobilities and Transitions to Adulthood' organised by Anita Harris and colleagues, so there will be a number of youth events happening prior to a packed program of youth research at the World Congress itself.
Please share this call for abstracts widely. We will also have travel bursaries to support research students, precariously employed, and unemployed researchers to participate.
Cheers,
Brady
also on behalf of the organising group: Dr Ben Lyall, Dr Julia Cook, Dr Benjamin Hanckel, Prof Steven Roberts, and Darren Graf.
