Hello Applied Sociology TG Members!
First a quick introduction. My name is Dr Rose-Marie Stambe and I am one of the new convenors for the Applied Sociology group. I am a Postdoctoral Research Fellow at the University of Queensland in Meanjin/Brisbane, and I do a lot of work with NGOs around social and economic marginalisation.
I'm incredibly excited to be a part of this group and will send work out soon with an online get together soon for a better introduction but also to get a sense of what you guys would like from this TG.
In this meantime though TG member Sienna Aguilar from Australia Women's Health is running the fantastic event below in case of interest:

The time of the event is to encourage clinicians, policymakers, community leaders, students and others who may not be able to do attend during usual business hours. University and TAFE staff may also be interested in how it could be used to support student course materials. Especially as an applied sociologist not working in academia, I’m committed to making the work I produce, including evidence based professional learning, as accessible as possible. As such we will also record the session so even if you can’t make it live, please register to receive updates on the recording.
More soon!
