At the close of nominations yesterday, midday Monday July 22nd, for TASA's Executive two-year term November 2024 – November 2026, the following persons were elected unopposed:
- President: Kim Humphery, Charles Darwin University
- Secretary: Kay Cook, Swinburne University
- Treasurer: Adrienne Byrt, Swinburne University
- Indigenous: Joann Schmider, Central Queensland University
Votes required
More than one nomination was received for the Equity & Inclusion, Public Sociology, and Thematic Groups Portfolios. This means that an election will be held to determine who will fill these important roles. Your participation in this voting process is crucial, as it helps shape the future direction of our association. Voting opens today at 12pm (AEST), via the orange link below, and will close at midday (AEST) August 14th, 2024.
Nominations re-opened
Please be advised that no nominations were received for the Vice-President and Postgraduate portfolios. The Executive have re-opened nominations for those positions. If you are interested in nominating for either role, and you would like more information, we encourage you to contact Kim Humphery, the current holder of the Vice-President Portfolio, or Richa George who is the current Postgraduate Portfolio Leader. You can also reach out to Alphia Possamai-Inesedy, TASA President or Sally Daly in TASA Admin about both positions. To nominate, please ensure your Candidate and Nominator forms are submitted to TASA Admin by midday, Monday August 5th.
