We are delighted to announce that the Call for Abstracts for TASA 2025 is now open!
While the conference will still take place in the last week of November, this year we have significantly brought forward key dates as part of a trial aimed at streamlining processes and enhancing the overall conference experience—from submission to attendance. Unlike previous years, there will be no submission deadline extensions this year. We appreciate your support with this change and kindly encourage you to submit by the deadline. Your cooperation will help us create a smoother, more efficient, and rewarding conference for everyone.
TASA’s 2025 Annual Conference will once again bring together the sociological community to explore this year’s theme:
Sociology in Action! Wellbeing, Policy, and Activism in Times of Crises and Change
This timely theme underscores sociology’s crucial role in addressing contemporary challenges—fostering wellbeing, shaping policy, and driving meaningful activism during times of crisis and transformation. As we navigate social, economic, environmental, and political upheavals, the conference will provide a platform for showcasing how sociological research, practice, and teaching contribute to resilience, equity, and sustainable change.

As mentioned above, to allow for a smoother and more efficient event organisation process, we have brought all submission deadlines forward significantly compared to previous years.
✅ Panel Proposal Submission Deadline: 17th March 2025
✅ General Abstract Submission Deadline (Thematic Groups): 22nd April 2025
✅ Abstract Selection & Notification: Late April – May (outcomes by 26th May 2025)
📌 Submission Guidelines
Participants can submit abstracts for the following formats:

2️⃣ Panel Proposal
3️⃣ Poster Presentation
4️⃣ Book Launch
5️⃣ Photography Exhibition
🔹 All presentations require an abstract (max. 200 words).
