Hello!

 

Happy 2025! Just a short email with some updates from the Sociology of Youth Thematic Group. 

First and foremost, our wonderful co-convenor Cris Townley has stepped down this year, I want to extend a heartfelt thanks for all of their hard work and passion for building community within the Youth Thematic Group! 

This does mean that we need a new co-convenor to help me keep this vibrant thematic group going! It is a 2 year term, the main responsibility is reviewing the TASA Conference abstracts, but we also can put on some fun events around sharing our work or more generally meeting eachother and forming connections. Please let me know if you or anyone you know is interested in taking on the role!

Secondly, I have just created a TASA Youth Bluesky account, it would be great if you could give it a follow. I will also make a Australian Youth Sociologists starter pack so send me your user name if you would like to be added. 

Thats all from me at the moment, I hope you have a great year ahead and please reach out if you have any ideas for around Youth Sociology that you would like help with getting off the ground.
