Dear colleagues,
I hope you're feeling energised as we roll into a new academic year.
Thematic group convenors
Welcome and congratulations to the new convenors of our thematic group, Christie Bosworth and Hannah Fairlamb. Christie and Hannah nominated for the role ahead of our meeting at the TASA conference, and received the full support of all members who were present. Both are in the finishing stages of their PhD writing at University of Wollongong and University of Melbourne respectively, and most members will be familiar with their work from online and in-person events.
Ben Green and Andy Bennett will continue as convenors alongside Christie and Hannah. Catherine Strong and Sam Whiting are stepping down. Sincere thanks to Cath and Sam for their vision and effort over the first two years of this thematic group!
WhatsApp group
Following discussion at the TASA conference we started a WhatsApp group for members to keep in touch informally. If you'd like to be added, contact ben.green@rmit.edu.au with your mobile phone number.
TASA and IASPM Conferences 2026 - Sunny Coast
This year, both TASA (usually last week of November) and IASPM-ANZ (usually first week of December) will be hosted by the University of Sunshine Coast. At our AGM, members expressed support for a thematic group event, around and possibly between the two conferences, to encourage/assist member attendance and to grow the profile of our group. Convenors will explore TASA funding options ahead of the application round in March. Please share your thoughts and ideas.
Calls and events
Please send any news, publications, questions to Ben or the other convenors.
Kind regards,
Ben Green (on behalf of the thematic group convenors)
