Hello everyone,
A special thanks to the members who completed the short survey. Your input is already shaping the direction of our activities this year! With that said, we are excited to launch our first initiative: ‘Catch Up & Write’ sessions.
These sessions directly respond to members’ interest in having dedicated time to focus on writing. They are designed to support research progress in a structured, but relaxed way, offering protected time to write in a collegial and supportive environment. Equally, they create a space for us to connect with each other (over the joys and perils of writing!!). Whether you’re drafting, revising, or simply trying to get words on the page, these sessions are for you 🙂
The details for our first session are below:
- TIME: 12:00pm-2:00pm (bring your lunch!)
- LOCATION: Online via Zoom
- DETAILS: Attendees will have a chance to briefly hear from the co-convenors, catch up with other group members, and spend some time working on a piece of writing alongside other attendees.
Our goal is to establish a consistent day and time each month for these sessions once we gain a sense of members’ availability and writing rhythms.
We are also pleased to share that our group’s TASA funding application was successful! In the coming months we look forward to sharing more details regarding the Youth Methodology Workshop/Symposium planned for later in the year, including event details and expressions of interest for event support roles. Stay tuned!
Finally, if you didn’t get a chance to fill out our planning survey, it is still open! We would love to hear your ideas: https://sydney.au1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_9KQV3jxY8g211D8.
That’s all for now. We hope you can join us for our first writing session and be part of building this collegial, supportive space!
Warm regards,
Imogen, Julia, Natalie, John and Maddison
