Biography
I'm a legal sociologist working in health. My work is about decision-making, legal capacity, and how legal and administrative systems actually work in practice for people with disabilities. I look at complex systems, including health care, the NDIS, banking and finance, income support, aged care, and voting, and explore the critical gaps between what policy intends and what people actually experience. My focus is on inclusion and people with profound intellectual and multiple disabilities who are too often invisible in regulation, policy, governance, and research. I am a Research Fellow at the School of Health and Rehabilitation Sciences at The University of Queensland.
