Biography
I am a PhD candidate in Migration Studies at the University of Sussex in the UK, where I lived for three years before returning to Australia. My research and professional practice sits at the intersection of migration, cultural diversity, and creative labour, with a focus on artists and arts workers with experience of international migration. Alongside my research, I am engaged in teaching at the University of Sydney.
I bring over 18 years of experience in the arts, community, and government sectors. I have led award-winning initiatives and developed numerous projects supporting underrepresented artists and cultural expressions. In 2017, I won the New South Wales Premier’s Multicultural Community Medal – Arts and Culture. In recent years, my professional practice has focused on research and policy engagement.
Born in Colombia, I have studied and worked in several countries, including Australia, Colombia, Italy, and the UK. I currently live and work on Dharug land.
