Thematic Group Conveners

TASA's Executive introduced Thematic Groups (TGs) in 2005. The groups are designed to facilitate communication and collaboration between TASA members working in similar areas. They are also intended to provide a vehicle for the organisation of the annual TASA conference. Currently, there are 26 TGs that reflect the diverse interests of the TASA membership.

Thematic Groups are the nucleus of the association and the conveners work hard to support their group members by overseeing their group's social media platforms, web pages, forum, blog, newsletter, conference submissions/program as well as organising events and an annual meeting. The thematic groups are represented on the Executive by a portfolio leader.

Convener/s are determined by the membership of the TGs, either through meetings at TASA Annual Conferences or through email communication with all TG members. Previous to 2019, all conveners changed over every three years. From November 2019, the convener term has been two years.

If you are interested in being a thematic group convener for the November 2026 – November 2028 term, please let your current conveners know.
