TASA 2024:Visa Information

For delegates coming from overseas to present at our conference in Australia, you would typically need to apply for a specific type of visa that allows for short-term business visits, including attending or presenting at conferences. The most appropriate visa options for this purpose are:

1. Visitor Visa (subclass 600) - Business Visitor stream:
o This visa is suitable for business visitors who need to attend
conferences, negotiations, or exploratory business visits.
o It allows the holder to stay in Australia for up to three months.
o More information can be found here.

2. Temporary Work (Short Stay Specialist) Visa (subclass 400):
o This visa is designed for short-term, highly specialized work, including
presenting at conferences.
o It is suitable for people who need to stay in Australia for up to three
months.
o More information can be found here.

3. Electronic Travel Authority (ETA) (subclass 601):
o This visa is available to passport holders from certain countries and
allows for short-term business visits, including attending conferences.
o The ETA allows for multiple entries into Australia for up to a year, with
each stay limited to three months.
o More information can be found here.

4. eVisitor (subclass 651):
o This visa is similar to the ETA but is available to citizens of certain
European countries.
o It allows for short-term business visits, including attending conferences,
and permits stays of up to three months.
o More information can be found here.

Each visa type has specific eligibility criteria, application processes, and conditions, so it is important that you review the requirements and choose the one that best suits your situation. You can find more detailed information and apply through the Australian Department of Home Affairs website.
